Message from Principals

Dear Families of Eenchokay Birchstick School,

We hope this letter finds you well. We are writing to share with you some important updates that are happening at Eenchokay Birchstick School. As we enter the new academic year, we want to ensure parents, families and students are aware of the changes and initiatives at our school.

Firstly, we would like to express our gratitude for the continued support and involvement in our school community. The dedication you have in your children’s education is amazing and we are grateful to have you as part of our school community.

We are excited to announce that we have implemented several changes to enhance the school environment and learning experiences. One of these changes is implementing a new literacy curriculum.

EBS has made the shift to the Science of Reading in which we have already seen great successes in its short implementation. Students are experiencing growth within literacy at a more consistent rate than before. This really shows  in their confidence within the classroom and school community.

Additionally, we have expanded our extracurricular programming to allow for a wider range of opportunities for students to explore their interests and develop their preexisting skills. From sports to arts and everything in between, there is something for every student to get involved in.

Throughout the school year, EBS will continue to run Family Nights filled with various activities for all grades. This will allow for opportunities for families and teachers to make connections. We will also be running various Professional Development sessions to foster learning in our teachers which will be passed along to our students.

Finally, we are committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all students. Our staff will participate in training throughout the school year to ensure that diversity, equity and inclusion are at the forefront of their classrooms. This will help us make sure that your child feels safe and welcome at school.

We encourage parents to stop in to see their children hard at work as your presence within the school is greatly appreciated. Once again, we thank you for your continued support and value your partnership with the school.

If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to our offices.

Wishing you and your family a successful school year.

Sincerely,

Mary Hill, K4- Grade 4 Principal
Brian Green, 5-8 Principal
